First time trying English Tea Store's English Breakfast Blend No. 1 Loose Leaf Tea? Try our Sample Size of 1 ounce.
The English Breakfast Blend No. 1 Tea blend from English Tea Store is a blend of the finest Assam, Kenyan and other choice teas. This is our strongest tea, and makes a great start to the day.
It has a full malty flavor with a rich dark color. We recommend this tea be served hot with milk and a little sugar, but it is also delicious served with lemon or it can be used to make iced tea. This tea has a finer leaf size for a faster brew time and better infusion. We also offer a similar tea with a larger leaf.
The English Breakfast Blend No. 1 pairs perfectly with a traditional English style breakfast: poached eggs on toast with baked beans, cheddar and cream cheeses, and cured meats.
Contents loose leaf tea net weight 1 ounces
English Breakfast Blend No. 1 Tea is gluten free, as well as nuts, wheat, crustacea, eggs, milk/dairy, sulfites, and soy lecithin free. This tea is packed at a factory that has nuts on the premises.
Caffeine content: Medium - This tea contains natural caffeine found in the L. Camellia Sinensis family. A cup of black tea steeped in boiled water for 5 minutes will contain between 27 to 35 milligrams of caffeine. An equal sized cup of coffee will contain between 80 - 100 milligrams of caffeine. Caffeine quickly becomes soluble in very hot water. If you wish to reduce the caffeine level in this tea, briefly rinsing the tea leaves in extremely hot water will reduce the caffeine content between 25-50% with only a minor effect on taste.
Antioxidant Content: High - 7.50 - 9.99% polyphenols by dry weight. The longer you steep your tea the more polyphenols will be extracted. (Test results based on 5 minutes steeping time. Polyphenol percentages may fluctuate with lot, grade of tea, testing method, temperature of water and freshness of tea). More antioxidants are extracted from tea (L. Camellia Sinesis) the longer it is brewed. And the more tea is used, the greater the antioxidant benefit.
Nutritional Information: Amount per Serving; Serving size 2.5 grams of loose tea. Makes 8 fluid ounces or 240 milliliters.

Best English Breakfast at any price
I have tried many much more expensive English Breakfast teas. This is by far my favorite. Short brew, 2-3 minutes. If you like milk with a more robust tea, brew full 5 minutes. Seems to be loosing popularity to Blend #2. This is more robust than the smoother #2 blend, and I prefer it.

Not leaves but dust
I purposefully bought a sample of English Breakfast Blend no. 1 and Blend no. 2 to compare the two. Blend no. 1 says loose tea leaves but it is really pulverized dust. I have a very fine mesh strainer for my tea and this stuff managed to work its way through even that. And what I could taste was not different from Blend 2. If you intend to load up bags with tea, then this may work for you. Otherwise, stick with Blend 2.
