The English Breakfast Blend No. 2 blend from English Tea Store is a perfect breakfast tea with good body and full tea flavour notes. A larger leaf size than ou?

English Breakfast Blend No. 1 this blend requires a slower infusion time. Especially enticing with milk, the English Breakfast Blend No. 2 pairs perfectly with a traditional English style breakfast: poached eggs on toast with baked beans, cheddar and cream cheeses, and cured meats. This blend is also delicious when used to make iced tea.

    How to Make Tea

Available in 4 sizes (Please select from the options above):

    • First time trying English Tea Store's English Breakfast Blend No. 2 Loose Leaf Tea?

Try our Sample Size of 1 ounce.
    • Contents loose leaf tea net weight 4 ounces
    • Contents loose leaf tea net weight 16 ounces (1 pound)
    • Contents loose leaf tea net weight 80 ounces (5 pound)

Caffeine content: Medium - This tea contains natural caffeine found in the L. Camellia Sinensis family. A cup of black tea steeped in boiled water for 5 minutes will contain between 27 to 35 milligrams of caffeine. An equal sized cup of coffee will contain between 80 - 100 milligrams of caffeine. Caffeine quickly becomes soluble in very hot water. If you wish to reduce the caffeine level in this tea, briefly rinsing the tea leaves in extremely hot water will reduce the caffeine content between 25-50% with only a minor effect on taste.

Antioxidant Content: High - 7.50 - 9.99% polyphenols by dry weight. The longer you steep your tea the more polyphenols will be extracted. (Test results based on 5 minutes steeping time. Polyphenol percentages may fluctuate with lot, grade of tea, testing method, temperature of water and freshness of tea). More antioxidants are extracted from tea (L. Camellia Sinesis) the longer it is brewed. And the more tea is used, the greater the antioxidant benefit.

Nutritional Information: Amount per Serving; Serving size 2.5 grams of loose tea. Makes 8 fluid ounces or 240 milliliters.

      excellent morning tea

Posted by rls on May 30th 2020

This tea brews well every single time. It is a great morning tea, especially for those long mornings where you can sit, contemplate your week, and drink 2 or 3 cups over an hour of a full breakfast and time to chat with your significant other. The tea doesn't go bitter as it sits in the pot; it stays fresh and delicious.

Delicious tea, especial the larger leaf Blend #2 blend. My husband and I drink it regularly. We like it plain -- no sugar, no milk, no lemon -- but we probably make it weaker than many people prefer. It's a winner in our book.

Dare I say that’s it’s almost as good as the tea that I buy at Harrods in London. I buy the Extra Strong Breakfast tea #15, usually. I may never order from Harrods again. Oh, who am I kidding? I’ll always order from there. But this is awesome tea. I highly recommend!!

This is REAL tea, not the bottom of the barrel ground up dust you find in the store. Superb Flavor!

I wasn't quite as happy with this tea as with others I've bought

Posted by Bethany on Apr 9th 2020

My first order of loose tea with the English Tea Store was the Irish Breakfast Tea. After I got used to seeing little round pellets instead of leaves, I grew to love it. After that was all gone, I decided to go for the English Breakfast (this one I am reviewing). I'm not quite as happy with it. It takes more leaves to get a good brew, so I am using more tea leaves per cup, which means that it negates the good low price for a 1 lb. bag. I'll probably go back to the Irish Breakfast next time (tho' it will still be at least 6 months from now).
