      Frank Cooper's Original Marmalade

Posted by Celia R Vorsanger on Aug 3rd 2021

This marmalade tastes great -- nice and orangey and a little bitter. BUT, there are almost no pieces of orange peel in it which is what makes Coopers so great. It says Coarse Cut on the side of the label. The Vintage version is full of peel but it's very hard to find.

      A rich marmalade

      Posted by products.reviews.anonymous_poster on Oct 27th 2020

I like my marmalade somewhat bitter, and this one qualifies. It also had more "rich" undertones to the sweetness than most bitter marmalades. Just bought some more....

      Cooper's Marmalade

So I am at Heathrow and about to return to Washington. My daughter gave me three jars of Coopers Marmalade. I forgot to put it in my hold baggage. They try and cofiscate it. I appeal to the supervison and explain that this is British marmalade going to the colonies. You can't confiscate it. I was allowed to bring it home. There is marmalade and then there is Coopers Oxford and/or Coopers Original Marmalade.

      Cooper's Original Oxford Marmalade

I am a 50 year fan of bitter, coarse-cut seville orange Marmalade, an acquired taste ( more robust than sweet marmalade) and Cooper's is absolutely the best. Original and Vintage seem the same to me, although the manufacturer claims a difference. There new version using Muscovado sugar is a real revelation and I encourage the English Tea Store to get some so I can buy some as soon as... Cooper's Seville Orange Coarse-cut is my Marmalade of choice, and I'm so glad the English Tea Store carries it!!
