Lemon Green Tea

The Lemon Green Tea blend from English Tea Store is a pleasant blend of tart lemon, with the sweetness of healthy green tea.

Pekoe Gunpowder is one of the stronger flavored green teas on the market and takes your taste buds on a journey of smoky depths with each sip. Its strength and flavor comes from the way it is rolled during production. The labor-intensive process includes hand rolling each individual leaf in order to force flavorful liquids from the centre of the leaf to the surface. Firing seals the leaf in this rolled state and keeps the flavor and power contained. Add to this, the lively character of fresh lemons. Although lemons are generally known for their soothing qualities, they also pack some power. The Lemon Green tea blend also makes an excellent iced tea.

98% or more of this tea comes from estates that are part of the Ethical Tea Partnership. The ETP is an initiative started within the tea industry to monitor and regulate living and working conditions on estates around the world.

Pine tar and pledge. . .

"I'm sorry, ETS. I have loved every other tea I've bought over numerous years. This Lemon Green Tea, well, 2 problems. 1). The leaves are huge and expanded so much that it clogged the spout of my teapot as I tried to strain it into the second teapot (I make tea in one pot and strain it to the other). At first it plugged up, then some leaves fell out, splashing hot tea all over the place. 2). It smells, and rather tasted, like a pine tree. I think I made it too strong. Usually, green tea tastes like grass, and as I am neither bovine nor equine, it doesn't really appeal to me very much. I thought that with the taste of lemon, it might be palatable enough for me to benefit from the particular antioxidants in green tea. Well, I made it through a cup after adding a goodly spoonful of sugar (Mary Poppins comes to mind). I will make it weaker the next time and see if that helps. I used the amount of tea leaves that I usually use for black teas, which I like strong. I don't like to add more than the lightest touch of sweetness, unless I need it strong and sweet as comfort therapy. Maybe I'll add a spoonful to the pot when I am brewing black tea."
