Experience one of the most distinctive and legendary profiles in the world of specialty tea: China Lapsang Souchong Loose Leaf Tea. Hailing from the misty, high-altitude slopes of the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian, China, this historic tea is celebrated for its remarkably crisp character and deep, commanding smokiness. Poured into the cup, it reveals a dark, lustrous coppery-red liquor. The complex sensory profile throws a heady, mesmerizing aroma reminiscent of a crackling wood fire, balancing a bold, robust black tea foundation with an unforgettable, smoothly integrated savory-sweet finish.
The origins of Lapsang Souchong trace back to a historic moment of improvisation in ancient China, when tea leaves were rapidly dried over open pinewood fires to protect the harvest from approaching soldiers, inadvertently creating a global sensation. Today, our superior-leaf Lapsang is meticulously produced within a protected nature preserve where dense mountain mists meet old-growth pine forests. The large, orthodox black tea leaves undergo an intensive, multi-stage artisanal process: they are deliberately withered over crackling fires, pan-fried to lock in structural integrity, and gently smoked over smoldering pinewood until the leaves transform into thick, glossy, oil-rich strips capable of delivering a profoundly complex and legendary culinary journey.

"Large size is cheaper and ensures lapsang souchong for a very long time."

"Good afternoon sip."

"The last time I bought this tea, in 2022, it was about half the price it is now. It is a wonderful tea but not worth what this site is now charging. I have also noticed huge price increases in all other teas. It is a shame that greed has overtaken this site as well. My social security sure hasn't gone up 95% in two years. The current 15% off is actually an insult. I will need to find another source that isn't inclined to prey on its customer base. Shame, shame ETS! I will be surprised if the site publishes this critique."

"This is an Awesome Tea and my absolute favorite. I've been buying from the English Tea Store for well over 15 years. I recommend them to everyone. And I recommend this Tea for those looking for something unique and different from other Teas. Despite its noticeably smokey scent when fresh brewed, this Tea has a smooth almost sweet taste to it. I drink with Milk or just plain. It is an Excellent Iced Tea as well! It's also highly addictive so be warned you may never stop buying it. It is slightly similar to Russian Caravan in terms of some of the notes but is smoother with less tannins. Though you may add sugar or honey as well I find this tea doesn't need it. Enjoy!"

"That the loose tea aroma is so well smoke scented yet the brewed cup is almost absent of same. Maybe an old batch?"

"The only problem, and not your fault, was the atmospheric pressure. Had the bag puncture a little bitt."
