Imported from the UK, have a delicious treat with a traditional plum pudding from Matthew Walker. Made using the same traditional recipe that's been used for over 100 years, this recipe uses 13 ingredients, said to represent Jesus and his 12 apostles, for a decadent pudding blend, reminiscent of home made.

Plum Pudding is a steamed or boiled pudding. It is made by combining nutmegs, raisins, nuts, apples, cinnamon, dates, and many other ingredients to a batter. You'll notice plums are not listed. The pre-Victorians used the word "plums" as a term for raisins. More like a cake, plum pudding has also been called plum duff. It has to be quite a treat for it to have been outlawed during the Puritan reign in England because it was considered "sinfully rich".

We recommend serving your Christmas pudding with clotted or devon cream, or brandy butter.

The Matthew Walker's Classic Christmas Pudding - 3.5oz (100g) serves 1.

Outstanding product, hard to find

"Our family had plum pudding every Christmas. I was saddened to learn that two long-time US manufacturers, Richardson & Robbins and Cross & Blackwell had gone out of business. This product is very close to my memory of those, and I am very grateful the Tea Store carries it. I hope that the 400g size, which is what I ordered, is back next season - apparently I got lucky that I got the two I ordered two weeks ago, because it is no longer available at the moment - not even a listing."
