Details

Experience our Shanghai Lichee Jasmine Green Tea, a refined and delicate blend. This tea uses high-quality green tea leaves from Hunan province, scented with real jasmine blossoms and natural lichee fruit. It is a light, elegant tea with a refreshing, honey-like aroma.

When brewed, it creates a clear, pale yellow cup. The taste is smooth and crisp, balancing sweet fruit notes with fresh jasmine florals. It finishes with a natural, clean sweetness that is very pleasant on the palate.

How This Tea is Crafted

  • Steam-Processed Leaves: Fresh leaves are steamed immediately after picking to lock in their natural color, antioxidants, and amino acids.
  • Traditional Scenting: We layer the tea leaves with fresh jasmine blossoms and lichee extracts. The tea leaves naturally absorb these floral and fruity scents.
  • Expert Pan-Firing: After scenting, the tea is pan-fired to give the leaves a beautiful glossy finish and a smooth, consistent flavor.
  • Quality Terroir: Sourced from the unique microclimates of Hunan province, ensuring a premium base for this blend.

The Scenting Process

The magic of this tea lies in the scenting process. Because the tea leaves are porous, they act like a sponge for the surrounding aromas. By layering the tea with real jasmine and lichee, we infuse the leaves with fragrance without the need for heavy artificial additives. This results in a "self-drinking" cup that is naturally sweet and aromatic.

Too artificial

"The artificial flavor of this tea is very strong. It made me wonder if the tea in and of itself is so weak, or nondescript that someone thought it needed to be propped up by a rather heavy infusion of artificial flavoring. I would really like to taste this tea just by itself - can we trust the tea and the grower, or at least encourage a culture that goes back to its root and not depend on gimmicks?"

"Unique scent & flavor, definitely will order again!"

Shockingly bad

"I love litchis, dried, canned, fresh, even their drab cousins longans and rambutans. And I even like fake litchi taste like in gummie candies. Plus I drink jasmine daily. So I thought this stuff would be a guaranteed big winner! Never do that here. There are a LOT of duds, most with rave reviews somehow, so you MUST try a sample size bag before wasting money on a pound. This is so disgusting I would be ashamed to hand it off to a tea drinking friend, it went straight to the bin. It smells super fake, like cheap shampoo or maybe fruit loops. Tastes bitter (note they use sencha as the base, which imo clashes, adding to the disaster). I detect not a hint of litchi, real or fake, nor any jasmine. I would say what it reminds me of most is chewable multivitamins, including the muddy aftertaste. I tried a quick rinse before the main steep, to lighten the flavor. I tried adding everything, from sugar or honey to cream to lemon. I even fermented some into jun. I could find no way of making it drinkable."

Totally disgusting

"I am verrrry skeptical of the claim this is done with natural flavors. It smells like shampoo or something. Super harsh and fake. Litchi is my favorite fruit so I am very familiar with how they taste, underripe, overripe, dried, freeze dried, canned, and this does not taste or smell remotely like real litchis. I'm no stranger to fake litchi either, as a fan of boba tea and gummy candies. I've never had a bad fake litchi flavor til now. I do not understand how this has good reviews. I tried rinsing it of some flavoring with a 1-min steep, then brewed it normally. I tried with honey, sugar, milk. Hot, cold. Even fermented a bit into jun. No matter how I try it, it's revolting. It gave me flashbacks to chewable multivitamins, with that vaguely Froot Loopy smell and taste at approach but a moment later sour, muddy taste. So if you ever ate chewable multis and thought 'I wish I could sip on a drink that tastes like this' you are in luck. I don't detect the jasmine at all, oddly, despite the presence of a scandalous amount of flowers. I could kick myself for investing in a whole pound, especially after almost swearing off this shop after finding their ""orange blossom"" tea is really ""orange peel"". I should have known their stuff's not as good as it's hyped to be. But I had never had bad litchi flavoring before, and I drink jasmine a lot, so I figured for sure this would be at worst ok. Nope, it's unusable. Never again, I am sticking to the high quality tea shops from here on. If you must shop here, buy samplers first, every time! No matter how appealing the ad and reviews seem."
