Experience the uncompromised depth of an authentic spiced tradition without the caffeine footprint: our premium CO2 Decaffeinated Chai Tea offers a highly structured, aromatically brilliant loose-leaf experience. Built upon a foundation of select black teas decaffeinated via a gentle, state-of-the-art natural process, this exquisite gourmet blend delivers a magnificent, full-bodied extraction. The palate is treated to a robust, deep amber liquor defined by an authoritative, warming masala spice architecture. Pungent top notes of ginger and cinnamon transition seamlessly into an intricate finish of cardamom and black pepper, performing flawlessly when micro-emulsified with warm milk and organic sweetener.
The exceptional flavor retention and clean finish of this decaffeinated chai are achieved through an advanced **supercritical carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) decaffeination process**. Unlike harsh chemical solvents that strip the leaf of its natural character, this organic-compliant methodology utilizes pressurized $CO_2$ to isolate and selectively extract caffeine molecules. This meticulous technique preserves the essential cellular integrity, structural tannins, and flavor precursors of the base black tea leaves.
Sourced from prestigious estates situated at altitudes of 3,000 to 4,000 feet above sea level, the base tea is sorted to the exact **PF (Pekoe Fannings)** grading standard. This high-surface-area leaf cut is intentionally selected to maximize extraction efficiency. When combined with our traditional masala spice matrix—featuring **ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, white and black pepper, clove, and nutmeg**—the PF architecture ensures that the volatile spice phenols and black tea compounds dissolve uniformly during an extended 7-minute steep, yielding a rich, heavy liquor capable of cutting through dense milk concentrations.
Due to natural density variances between fractured pekoe fannings and heavier crushed botanicals like ginger roots and peppercorns, gravitational settling may occur during transit. To ensure an uncompromised distribution of essential oils and consistent spice metrics across every extraction, invert and gently agitate the loose-leaf container immediately prior to measuring your brewing dosage.

"Tea too finely ground, very dusty consistency makes for a 'muddy' cup of tea that even the finest mesh can't filter."
— Maria W. (1/5)
"I liked it, can't say it is the best tea I have had but I liked it. Visually, it is a little different then anything I have ever ordered, as it seems to be ground and not leaves. May be that is the process of decaffeination, I don't know and have nothing to compare it to."
— Deborah C. (4/5)
"Love the taste. But when you get to the bottom of the cup you get a mouth full of fine tea."
— Christine B. (4/5)
"Thank you for providing a decaf chai option, it is rich and smooth!"
— Donny T. (5/5)
"This is my go-to for loose leaf decaf chai. Whether it's too weak, too strong, or perfect depends on my mood. I sometimes add a little extra black pepper and ginger if I'm drinking it after dinner, or I sometimes mix it half-and-half with (decaf) black tea in the morning. So I suppose it's a good balance. My only complaint is that it's very finely ground, almost ""tea dust. "" I suppose that's a byproduct of mixing the tea and the spices, but it does become a bit sludgy. I had to buy an extra-fine strainer."
— Stephanie X. (4/5)
"The tea is very bland and finely ground, almost like dust."
— Joni R. (2/5)
"Was looking forward to trying loose decaf chai tea. I was so disappointed by the overall taste of too much black pepper and extra fine sludge that was in the bottom of my cup. Yes, I turned the bag over to mix. It was too expensive to be such a failure for me. Wish I had taken a picture of the cup."
— Fran B. (2/5)
"Tea is very good and I liked that it was not too strong in the spices."
— Carol E. (5/5)
"For my tastes, it could use a bit more cinnamon and ginger."
— Linda T. (4/5)
"I live on this decaf chai - lol I make it in large batches with a french press, store it in the fridge & drink it hot or cold with 1/2 milk. Yum. Better than *bucks ;) and DECAF!"
— Jill K. (5/5)
