Immerse yourself in a masterfully orchestrated, deeply intellectual sensory event: our premium Night of the Iguana Chocolate Chai Tea offers a magnificent, multi-layered loose leaf experience. Inspired by the intricate complexity of classical American drama, this signature reserve builds a commanding foundation using heavy, full-bodied black Assam tea leaves. Poured hot, it draws a dense, rich mahogany liquor in the vessel, releasing an opulent, enveloping bouquet of warming spices and roasted cocoa. The palate is treated to an extraordinarily robust and velvety mouthfeel where seasonal Indian spices and sweet caramel seamlessly transition into a sensuous, enduring Belgian chocolate finish—rendering a highly structured extraction engineered to perform with flawless resilience under lipid or dairy introduction.
The profound architectural depth and flavor longevity of this chocolate chai allocation honor the storied nuance of Tennessee Williams' famous play. To build an equally complex epicurean profile, our tea masters establish a robust foundation using estate-grown, orthodox Assam black tea leaves. Cultivated in the fertile, low-altitude soils of India’s Brahmaputra Valley, these leaves naturally contribute a dense concentration of water-soluble polyphenols, yielding a heavy, malty spine that serves as the perfect canvas for whole botanical integration.
Woven into this malty base is an authentic collection of premium **spices sourced from India's historic Malabar Coast**. This intricate spice matrix combines **ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, and a sharp dual-pepper alignment of black and white peppercorns**. These botanicals yield volatile essential oils that deliver an energetic, stimulating layer of thermal warmth. To soften the aggressive heat of the spices, the blend is carefully layered with roasted **cocoa beans**, sweet caramel notes, and delicate **white cornflower petals**, achieving a perfect chemical equilibrium where no single botanical overpowers the leaf.
Because our loose leaf chai utilizes large-cut orthodox leaves and whole, unground spice elements, it requires specific thermal parameters to achieve full dissolution kinetics. To unlock the deep structural tannins and essential oils trapped within the botanical cells, we recommend a prolonged immersion window of at least 7 minutes in actively boiling water. The robust tannin profile of the Assam base leaf is scientifically optimized to bind with the fats present in dairy or plant-based milks, transforming the intense, spicy liquor into a smooth, rounded, and decadent epicurean indulgence when finished with a traditional splash of milk and a touch of raw cane sugar.

"Night of the Iguana chai is a definite thing that I used to get in a small Tea shop. This is not that tea. The tea with that name that I expected to receive had tiny cocoa butter chips, cracked pepper, and ginger. This tea shared the name, but was missing those critical elements that made it such an exotic, satisfying cup."
— Patricia K. (3/5)
"Spicy, aromatic, and very strong. Definitely a new favorite."
— Gavriel G. (5/5)
"This is my favorite of all ETS flavored teas. Not too much of any one flavor, but just enough for a perfect balance of chocolate and spice. This is the best for a good cuppa to destress and relax after a hard day."
— Teresa H. (5/5)
"Doesn't really tase like a chai tea, or chocolate. Its alright"
