Imported from the UK, have a delicious treat with a traditional plum pudding from Matthew Walker. Made using the same traditional recipe that's been used for over 100 years, this recipe uses 13 ingredients, said to represent Jesus and his 12 apostles, for a decadent pudding blend, reminiscent of home made.

Plum Pudding is a steamed or boiled pudding. It is made by combining nutmegs, raisins, nuts, apples, cinnamon, dates, and many other ingredients to a batter. You'll notice plums are not listed. The pre-Victorians used the word "plums" as a term for raisins. More like a cake, plum pudding has also been called plum duff. It has to be quite a treat for it to have been outlawed during the Puritan reign in England because it was considered "sinfully rich".

We recommend serving your Christmas pudding with clotted or devon cream, or brandy butter.

    The Matthew Walker's Classic Christmas Pudding - 14.1oz (400g) serves 4.

Net Weight: 14.1 ounces (400 grams)

Ingredients: Sultanas (31%) (contains Cottonseed Oil), Sugar, Breadcrumbs (Wheat Flour, Wholemeal Wheat Flour, Wheat Germ, Yeast, Salt), Water, Cider (7%), Palm Oil, Wheat Flour, Molasses, Candied Citrus Peel (Glucose, Orange Peel, Sugar, Lemon Peel, Acidity Regulator: Citric Acid), Salt, Mixed Spice

Allergens: Wheat & Gluten. May contain nuts.

      Better than Gram's

Posted by Dale on Dec 7th 2019

My British grandmother served her homemade Christmas pudding every year. She made it a year ahead of time so it would be aged properly. She even left several in the freezer for us to have after she passed away. I have purchased these Matthew Walker Christmas puddings for several years. I hate to admit it, but they're better than Gram's.

Very moist, and delicious Christmas pud, and my husband even made the comment that it tasted just like the homemade one that I made him a couple of years ago, so that's a "thumbs up" from him. Great tasting, tastes just like home made!
