The Irish Breakfast CO2 Decaffeinated Tea blend from English Tea Store is a very robust tea, with plenty of Kenya and Assam to make it a great start to the day. With a superb, full tea taste, you'll enjoy the delicious malty notes reminiscent of caramel. An excellent depth and a lovely rosy cup. The CO2 Decaffeinating process uses highly pressurized carbon dioxide and there are no residual chemicals. The process has little effect on the flavor and the other benefits that this tea has to offer.

The Canadian Chemical Free CO2 Process removes caffeine without using chemicals of any sort. Instead, finished tea is briefly soaked in exceptionally pure water and gently flushed with CO2. The CO2 binds to the caffeine molecules and extracts them from the tea leaving behind all the natural proteins that give tea its flavor. It also leaves many of the polyphenols and antioxidants intact - so it's still good for you.

Antioxidant Content: Medium - The longer you steep your tea the more polyphenols will be extracted. (Test results based on 5 minutes steeping time. Polyphenol percentages may fluctuate with lot, grade of tea, testing method, temperature of water and freshness of tea). More antioxidants are extracted from tea (L. Camellia Sinesis) the longer it is brewed. And the more tea is used, the greater the antioxidant benefit.

CO2 processed decaf loose leaf tea

Posted by Karen Edwards on Mar 20th 2022

This tea is wonderful!. It can be made in a Keurig, with plastic K-cup simulated holders. It is full-bodied, but not strong or bitter, and keeps well. It is also priced right. I am so happy to have found it - it is difficult to find CO2 processed decaf teas - teas decaffeinated without chemicals. Highly recommend it/
