Details
The Long Island Strawberry Green Tea blend from English Tea Store combines a Sencha style green from Hunan, China with the sweet flavor of strawberries. Green tea forgoes the fermentation process required to produce black tea. The leaf is steamed after plucking, then bruised either by machine or by hand. After that it's pan or basket fired, leaving it with a distinctive glossy look and light sweetish flavor - an almost perfect match for the strawberry in terms of character profile. The juiciness has been further enhanced by the addition of dried papaya pieces.
Long Island has been famous for its strawberries for as long as people have lived there. Local history books describe people going on picnics and nature hikes to pick the wild berries as far back as the 1850's - and that's only recorded history. Archaeological records show that the Native Americans who inhabited Long Island centuries ago were also fond of the sweet summertime fruit. As time wore on, and car culture began to develop, roadside fruit stands popped up to cater to city folk partaking in the new found pleasure of the country drive. To this day a journey out to Long Island will take you past many such stands and pick-your-own berry patches.

Tea is made in China
Caffeine content: Low - This tea contains natural caffeine found in the L. Camellia Sinensis family. A cup of green tea steeped in boiled water for 5 minutes will contain between 22 to 29 milligrams of caffeine. An equal sized cup of coffee will contain between 80 - 100 milligrams of caffeine. Caffeine quickly becomes soluble in very hot water. If you wish to reduce the caffeine level in this tea, briefly rinsing the tea leaves in extremely hot water will reduce the caffeine content between 25-50% with only a minor effect on taste.
Antioxidant Content: High -The longer you steep your tea the more polyphenols will be extracted. (Test results based on 5 minutes steeping time. Polyphenol percentages may fluctuate with lot, grade of tea, testing method, temperature of water and freshness of tea). More antioxidants are extracted from tea (L. Camellia Sinesis) the longer it is brewed. And the more tea is used, the greater the antioxidant benefit.

So glad I bought a pound of it!
This tea is amazing. The strawberry and papaya flavors are subtle and don't mask the flavor of the green tea. There is also a hint of bitterness, a hunt of sourness and shint of sweetness, all of which combine and make my taste buds sing!

Long Island strawberry green tea
This is the best tea I’ve ever made. I drink at least a quart of it every day. The strawberry flavor is subtle and complements the green tea perfectly. I use just a teaspoon of tea for a pitcher. It’s also a great value.

Not very tasty
I purchased this expecting it to taste like or as good as Twinings pomegranate strawberry green tea but it isn't. I don't like green tea but I didn't mind how the Twinings tasted but the Long island strawberry was very green tasting and I didn't care for it. The quality and quantity was excellent and I will give it to one of my friends who like the taste of green tea.

Great!
We have been buying this tea ever since we discovered it on this site. My wife doesn't drink any other tea. I am generally not a big fan of green teas, but this one is delicious and refreshing.

Absolutely amazing
I tried this at my moms house, and when I asked where it was from, she said it was a gift. After some googling I have finally found it! This is the best green tea I’ve ever tried! Floral, delicious, 10/10! I am ordering more to have at my house to serve when I have company

This is very good
I actually reviewed this tea in the bag form, but this is the tea i actually bought. My bad. I repeat what I said there though. I bought 2 pounds of this tea 3 years ago for my fiance, and we haven't even got through the first bag, so don't buy this tea unless you plan on drinking it constantly. The tea is delicious and great quality. 10/10 would recommend.

Amazing
This tea is absolutely mind blowing. The strawberry is very pronounced with light floral refreshing notes that follow. Cold brew to make the strawberry even more forward.

It's good
I dont really like it. The tea does not have a strawberry flavor like I hoped. I have only tried it iced. The tea has a cornflower flavor and leaves an after taste.

Great flavor
I really liked this tea. It had great flavor and the strawberry is noticeable but not overpowering.
