Details
The Double Bergamot Earl Grey Tea blend from English Tea Store is for those who like a stronger taste of citrus. This Earl Grey tea is a finely ground blend of Indian and Ceylon teas. The tea gets its unusual flavor from oil of Bergamot, which is a small acidic orange. The latest research indicates that the Bergamot orange is a cross between the sweet or pear lemon (Citrus Limetta) and the Seville or sour orange (Citrus Aurantium). The sour orange is native to southern Vietnam, hence the Chinese connection.
This tea has a light refreshing taste, and can be served hot with or without milk or sugar. It can also be used to make iced tea.
Earl Grey tea was named after Charles Grey, the second earl in his line. He was Prime Minister to King William IV in the early 19th century. The legend is that the Earl was given the recipe by a Chinese mandarin with whom he was friends, and whose life he had saved.

Glad I swiched
I had been using Stash brand but made a change when they raised their prices. I wish I had made the change sooner. The English Tea Store tea is better, both in flavor and economy.
-
Don't bother
This Earl Grey tea lacks the refinement of most and is not well balanced. The bergamot flavour is not well developed and does not deserve the title of a double bergamot tea. If looking for an earl grey tea with a stronger bergamot scent I might suggest the Stash Double Bergamot tea as an alternative.

I love it
Now this is a real Earl Grey Tea. Wow

DOUBLE BERGAMOT EARL GREY TEA - LOOSE LEAF
Did not expect such a fine grind to the tea leaves. Left a whole lot of sediment in the cup. Would have preferred a standard cut tea instead.
-
Excellent quality and delicious
If you like Earl Grey, the double bergamot will be your new favorite. The fragrance is delightful, strong, but the “extra” bergamot is not overwhelming - just the right amount.
-
Taste great and strong
Earl Grey is my favorite, I always buy the loose leaves so I bought this because of the double Bergamot, it’s nice and strong, I always use cream and sugar and tea must be HOT. The only glitch is it’s a bit too fine, but not a deal breaker.

Double Bergamot Earl Grey
Nothing double about this Earl Grey. I found it disappointing.

Leaves were too finely ground...
Very disappointed. When I opened the package, I noticed that the tea leaves were so small that they fell through the mesh on even my finest mesh tea ball. I tried it anyway; the tea had a bitter aftertaste. Did I get the bottom of the barrel? I saw no evidence of insects--but it sure looked like the consistency of something that had been digested by insects. The rest of the tea is going into my compost!

Love This Tea
I mix this with Earl Gray Cream, or Lavender, or both for a unique flavor. Really picks me up in the morning. If you like Black Tea, Especially Earl Grey, you'll love this.
