Details
The Jasmine Dragon Tears Green Tea blend from English Tea Store is a steamed green tea that is hand rolled producing a smooth tea with a delicate and pleasing flavor and a heavenly jasmine character.
The tea is made from the top two leaves and the bud of new season growth (late March / early April). These delicate leaves are then hand rolled into the small pearls. When you infuse these pearls in your tea cup, you will see the top two leaves and the bud come to life. In fact you will see some small "hairy down" on the bud of the leaves - this denotes superb quality and very careful and delicate handling.
The extraordinary flavour of these Jasmine Dragon Tears is due to the time of plucking, manufacture and the fresh spring jasmine blooms. The new tea season starts in China in late March/early April (dependent on weather patterns) and it is during the first 4 weeks that the best teas are manufactured. After this initial period the quality of the teas and green leaf start to deteriorate rapidly and the teas become quite plain. Dragon Pearls are only made from tea plucked in the first 3 weeks of the new season. Coinciding with the new tea growth, the jasmine bushes are in spring bloom. Only the most fragrant blossoms are used (from bushes that are known to produce the most fragrant flowers). These fresh flowers are layered between the tea and before long the intense and uplifting fragrance of the new jasmine blooms is passed on to the tea. An extraordinary taste experience.

Try our Sample Size of 1 ounce.- Contents loose leaf tea net weight 4 ounces
- Contents loose leaf tea net weight 16 ounces (1 pound)
Caffeine content: Low - This tea contains natural caffeine found in the L. Camellia Sinensis family. A cup of green tea steeped in boiled water for 5 minutes will contain between 22 to 29 milligrams of caffeine. An equal sized cup of coffee will contain between 80 - 100 milligrams of caffeine. Caffeine quickly becomes soluble in very hot water. If you wish to reduce the caffeine level in this tea, briefly rinsing the tea leaves in extremely hot water will reduce the caffeine content between 25-50% with only a minor effect on taste.
Antioxidant Content: High. The longer you steep your tea the more polyphenols will be extracted. (Test results based on 5 minutes steeping time. Polyphenol percentages may fluctuate with lot, grade of tea, testing method, temperature of water and freshness of tea). More antioxidants are extracted from tea (L. Camellia Sinesis) the longer it is brewed. And the more tea is used, the greater the antioxidant benefit.

Visually nice, but not worth the price
My first brewing of this, obviously was too long. The tea was so bitter I couldn't drink it. The next brewing tasted fine, however, I did not sense any jasmine and that is what I was looking for and why I chose to pay this price which in my opinion is WAY out of line. I will not be purchasing it again.

What?
Not sure how anyone can stand the smell. Smells like the rubber white shoe soles of some cheap sneakers from a discount sporting goods store. Very obnoxious odor.

Stunningly Delicious
This is an absolutely stunningly delicious tea. It is, without a doubt, my favorite of any green tea or green tea blend I have EVER tasted. It far exceeded my expectations. With every sip, I paused and sighed with pleasure.

This is excellent tea!
The Dragon Tears tea is excellent. Nice, full flavor, not too much caffeine and in fact the leaves make a beautiful "tea sculpture" when brewed in clear glass. We are regular purchasers of Dragon Tears.

Excellent Tea!
Jasmine dragon Tears is an absolute favorite tea! Lovely floral notes! A bit pricey, but still a fave!

The best tea.
This is a staple in our house. Lovely, flowery aroma and flavor. The tea "balls" open up and form a beautiful tea sculpture in the jar. Brew in a quart jar or clear tea pot to see and enjoy flavor, lift and beauty.
