The Indian Spiced Chai Tea blend from English Tea Store is based on a premium black tea from Sri Lanka that is blended with an assortment of delightful spices. Best enjoyed with milk and sugar to taste, chai is so prevalent in India and Sri Lanka that it could be called the "National drink".

The word "chai" literally means tea. Often a lower quality tea is used to make "chai" as it is thought the spices will cover-up any deficiencies in the tea. We do not believe this and prefer to make our dry tea chai mix from real Indian spices and high-grown Ceylon tea. The quality of the tea elevates this chai to a new level.

Turn the bag of Chai upside down a few times. The reason is that during transit the spices can settle at the bottom of the bag.

    How to Make Tea

Available in 3 sizes (Please select from the options above):

    • First time trying English Tea Store's Indian Spiced Chai Loose Leaf Tea?

Try our Sample Size of 1 ounce.
    • Contents loose leaf tea net weight 4 ounces
    • Contents loose leaf tea net weight 16 ounces (1 pound)

Caffeine content: Medium - This tea contains natural caffeine found in the L. Camellia Sinensis family. A cup of black tea steeped in boiled water for 5 minutes will contain between 27 to 35 milligrams of caffeine. An equal sized cup of coffee will contain between 80 – 100 milligrams of caffeine. Caffeine quickly becomes soluble in very hot water. If you wish to reduce the caffeine level in this tea, briefly rinsing the tea leaves in extremely hot water will reduce the caffeine content between 25-50% with only a minor effect on taste.

Antioxidant Content: High - polyphenols by dry weight. The longer you steep your tea the more polyphenols will be extracted. (Test results based on 5 minutes steeping time. Polyphenol percentages may fluctuate with lot, grade of tea, testing method, temperature of water and freshness of tea). More antioxidants are extracted from tea (L. Camellia Sinesis) the longer it is brewed. And the more tea is used, the greater the antioxidant benefit.

I’ve had several different chai’s, some were from India, but this is by far the best. My Indian neighbor also likes it.

      awful

This tea is so bland that it has virtually no taste at all. I ended up throwing putting the entire bag in the compost pile.

      Just Right!

I love Chai and have been looking for the blend of spices that most closely matches the Chai I had in my favorite Indian restaurant. Just the smell of Indian Spice Chai tea takes me back to that experience and the taste is spot on. This Chai tea, as Goldylocks would say, "Is just right!"

      Love This Tea

I got this a bit over a week ago and have been enjoying it each morning. I have been a long-time fan of Irish Breakfast Tea (still am), but am finding the wonderful spiciness of this tea to be a great start to the day. I enjoy it with maybe a half teaspoon of sugar and half and half. Thanks ETS.

This tea is a wonderful blend of tea and Indian spices that is just about perfect. I usually have ten teas in my pantry but find myself going for this one time and again.

This tea has just the right blend of spices to make it smooth and tasty. If you combine it with some lemon tea leaves, it's just about perfect

This is one of my favorite teas. I do wish, however, that it were a bit less expensive.
