Details
The Dorian Grey Tea blend from English Tea Store is based on the floral notes of a strong Earl Grey with a touch of caramel.
This blend is dedicated to the tale of Dorian Gray, as told in Oscar Wilde's 1891 novel 'The Picture of Dorian Gray'. In the story, the young Dorian wishes that a portrait, painted of himself, would age instead of his actual body, allowing him to retain the spirit and beauty of his youth - Mr. Gray was evidently quite vain! The tragedy for Dorian is that no matter how hard he tries, beauty is ethereal and will always fade. In the end, he dies, aged and disfigured.
When experimenting with a new blend, the thought was that there was no better way to capture the fleeting qualities of beauty than through a tea. Tea is itself a beautiful product to behold with so much time and effort going into creating each individual leaf. Once boiling water is poured over them, the leaves whither and releases their golden essence never to produce a good strong cup again. (Unless of course you're talking green teas, some of which can be brewed up to 5 times!) This blend is based on the floral notes of a good strong Earl Grey that is sweetened further with a touch of caramel, both flavors serving to hint at the sweet hold of youth. To further enhance this vision of a tea that reflects the waning qualities of temporal beauty, we blended in dried apple pieces, calendula petals, and delicate elderblossoms - products of nature that lend a character of tragic allure.

Dorian Grey Blend Loose Leaf Tea - Superb!
Decided to try this blend because it sounded similar to French Blend, which my husband and I like very much. We were and are very pleased. We like it very much.
-
Delicious Blend - Similar to French Blend
We tried this a couple of orders ago and have stuck with it. It is based on Earl Grey but with a few extras. Similar to French Blend, which along with Earl Grey is another favorite, but this is slightly different. It's very tasty. We like it and have continued to buy it.

Nice Earl Gray
Nice aromia

Dorian Grey is EXCELLENT
A wonderful blend with subtle flavors that are delightful. An excellent blend I shall continue to buy. I prefer it over Earl Grey.
-
Beautiful tea
I fell in love with this tea the first time I drank it. It is beautiful to behold before and after brewing. A heavenly flavor. I love Earl Grey but the Dorian Grey blend is very exceptional. I am an ETS fan for life.

Dorian
Very tasty, will buy again
-
Hardy tea
This tea is strong and has an acidic bite. It is the only tea I like to add cream/milk too. That being said its unique flavor combination makes it one of my favorites when relaxing especially in the winter curled up with a book.

Strong tasty tea
Good for an afternoon tea, too floral for first thing in the morning.
