The Sencha Kyoto Cherry Rose Festival Tea blend from English Tea Store is a blend of high quality green tea with sweet cherry and morning rose flavor. The tea tends light liquoring, fresh and smooth with reasonable depth and body. The cherry flavoring and subtle rose hints give the tea a wonderful exotic character.
Kyoto is the cultural center of Japan. Several centuries ago, Kyoto was the religious capital of Japan. The relics of this past are evident throughout the city. Beside the multitude of temples that dot the city, and the wonderful parks where religious scholars once walked, the city has more the 1000 Torjii - those typical gate/arch structures that one associates with Japan. The Torjiis are large with the top shaped like a curved samurai sword (respect) and the two pillars are solid and stately (well-being). During the springtime this area of Japan is ablaze with the a new season of cherry blossoms and the air is filled with its sweet aroma. (The rose petals in this blend are intended to simulate these delicate cherry blossoms. The flavor is reminiscent of the beautiful smells that waft on the springtime breezes.) It is little wonder that this ancient city has a very high ratio of tearooms and this tea was created to honor (very important in Japan) this wonderful time of the year.

Ingredients: Green tea, rose petals, and natural flavors
Tea is from China.
Caffeine content: Low - This tea contains natural caffeine found in the L. Camellia Sinensis family. A cup of green tea steeped in boiled water for 5 minutes will contain between 22 to 29 milligrams of caffeine. An equal sized cup of coffee will contain between 80 - 100 milligrams of caffeine. Caffeine quickly becomes soluble in very hot water. If you wish to reduce the caffeine level in this tea, briefly rinsing the tea leaves in extremely hot water will reduce the caffeine content between 25-50% with only a minor effect on taste.
Antioxidant Content: High - The longer you steep your tea the more polyphenols will be extracted. (Test results based on 5 minutes steeping time. Polyphenol percentages may fluctuate with lot, grade of tea, testing method, temperature of water and freshness of tea). More antioxidants are extracted from tea (L. Camellia Sinesis) the longer it is brewed. And the more tea is used, the greater the antioxidant benefit.

I had this tea at the Reynolds Tavern in Annapolis...
I had this tea at the Reynolds Tavern in Annapolis years ago and have been looking for it ever since. So happy to see it's available.

Not your average green tea
I use 2 teabags because I use a coffee mug for my tea. This has a nice flavor and is not your average bland green tea.

Its good but make sure you do not over steep it or it will get bitter real fast. I think no more than 3 min. per 8 oz. cup. Does not take long for the bitterness to come thru.

Absolutely great taste!
I will purchase this tea over and over again. I love the smooth taste, and it is the best version of green tea that I have ever tastetd, and I consider myself a tea connoisseur. I would highly recommend this tea which is also at a great price.

Heavenly tea
This tea lived up to it's description. So floral and sweet smelling! Might not be to everyone's taste but it is even better than it's description. Would not want it everyday but perfect for a special occasion.
