The English Breakfast Blend No. 1 Tea blend from English Tea Store is a blend of the finest Assam, Kenyan and other choice teas. This is our strongest tea, and makes a great start to the day.
It has a full malty flavor with a rich dark color. We recommend this tea be served hot with milk and a little sugar, but it is also delicious served with lemon or it can be used to make iced tea. This tea has a finer leaf size for a faster brew time and better infusion. We also offer a similar tea with a larger leaf.
The English Breakfast Blend No. 1 pairs perfectly with a traditional English style breakfast: poached eggs on toast with baked beans, cheddar and cream cheeses, and cured meats.

English Breakfast Blend No. 1 Tea is gluten free, as well as nuts, wheat, crustacea, eggs, milk/dairy, sulfites, and soy lecithin free. This tea is packed at a factory that has nuts on the premises.
Caffeine content: Medium - This tea contains natural caffeine found in the L. Camellia Sinensis family. A cup of black tea steeped in boiled water for 5 minutes will contain between 27 to 35 milligrams of caffeine. An equal sized cup of coffee will contain between 80 - 100 milligrams of caffeine. Caffeine quickly becomes soluble in very hot water. If you wish to reduce the caffeine level in this tea, briefly rinsing the tea leaves in extremely hot water will reduce the caffeine content between 25-50% with only a minor effect on taste.
Antioxidant Content: High - 7.50 - 9.99% polyphenols by dry weight. The longer you steep your tea the more polyphenols will be extracted. (Test results based on 5 minutes steeping time. Polyphenol percentages may fluctuate with lot, grade of tea, testing method, temperature of water and freshness of tea). More antioxidants are extracted from tea (L. Camellia Sinesis) the longer it is brewed. And the more tea is used, the greater the antioxidant benefit.

Breakfast Blend No.1
Great tea, fast delivery and reasonably priced. Perfect.
-
Enjoyable breakfast tea
This is a nice strong breakfast tea. Perfect way to get one's day started.

I hated this tea
I usually love the tea I get at the English Tea Store and anticipated this to be true but the blend was beyond what I liked. It was acerbic with an aftertaste that I found repellent.
-
English Breakfast Blend No. 1
Makes a good strong cup of tea. However, the cut of the tea is fine and some of the tea seeps through the tea ball. The last sip is best left in the cup unless you want to taste 'tea grit'.

English breakfast tea
I have bought this tea for years and am always pleased with it

Almost powder
Tea is so fine that it sifts through a standard ball infuser. I can't imagine what kind of infuser would contain it, except the individual papery ones (extra cost). If you don't mind straining tiny tea bits through your teeth, & having the mess of trying to clean them all out of the infuser, go ahead and order this one. I ordered it because my preferred type was out of stock, and this one was advertised as their strongest cup of tea. What a shock after enjoying the Irish Breakfast loose tea.

GREAT BREAKFAST TEA FOR PRICE
This tea is ground very fine. This makes the brewing time extra fast and the taste is very good with a bit of milk for a morning tea. It is one of my standard teas I stock.
-
tea dust not drinkable
My bag of English Breakfast #1 tea is mostly tea-dust. very unpleasant and it shifts through the tea-ball, floating around in my cup. Don't bother ordering it. It is terrible.

very good tea after shipping issue resolved
English Tea Store's own brand, namely their English Breakfast Tea No.1 is as good as any other name brand, and better than most. If you've had Twinings or PG Tips and enjoyed them then you'll appreciate the full-bodied flavor of No. 1. At home we usually brew a full pot of tea each morning so we can have more than one cup each. We also add a teaspoon of a Ahmad Special Blend to the pot to add just a touch of extra zing to the flavor. We've been ordering tea from English Tea Store for about eight years now, and they are good people to deal with. Our most recent order arrived in new style bags labeled No.1 but, when we opened the first bag we discovered it contained the larger leaf No.2. The No.2 is the large-leaf version of No.1, and it has very similar taste except that it's milder, less full-bodied. I scooped some onto a dish beside the bag and took a photo with my phone. Then I emailed Online Stores. They handle communications for several merchants including English Tea Store. They responded the next day and asked if we wanted a refund or wanted them to send No.1 as originally requested. We said send the tea, of course! It arrived in about a week, and this time it was the correct fine-grain No.1. We made a fresh pot this morning and confirmed it's exactly right. Nice tea, nice company. Mistakes happen; they fixed it.
