Details
The Tarajulie Estate Tea blend from English Tea Store is an Assam tea, 2nd Flush, from the Thakurbari/Tezpur district of North East India, which is 1500 feet above sea level. This blend produces a thick full bodied tea with good malty flavour, which makes a good all day tea.
Tarajulie is a beautiful estate that lies in the shadows of the Himalayan mountains on the Bramaputra River plain. On a clear day the majestic mountains are visible on the northern horizon. The estate was purchased by the George Williamson Group of companies in the mid 1980's and they have maintained the high standards that this estate was known for. The estate produces only orthodox manufactured tea. From time to time on the estate they contend with wild elephants and the occasional tiger. Not too many years ago intrusions by wild animals were not welcomed. Today however, these "visits" are not seen in the same light. In fact, Tarajulie has maintained some of the forested areas on the estate to provide cover for these endangered animals.
You might ask - What gives Assam tea its special characteristics? The Assam valley is dominated by the Brahmaputra River - a large slowly meandering river which over millennia of spring and fall flooding has deposited a rich loam over the valley. The soil is deep and sandy and the region suffers a very hot and steamy monsoon season, but equally important is a relatively dry and cool winter...perfect conditions for the Assam tea bush. This area is also susceptible to earthquakes which can make the ground swallow up whole tea bushes, but this does not affect the unmistakable rich taste of Tarajulie FBOP.
98% or more of this tea comes from estates that are part of the Ethical Tea Partnership. The ETP is an initiative started within the tea industry to monitor and regulate living and working conditions on estates around the world.

Tarajule Estate Tea
I like to try new teas, especially estate teas. This tea is OK, but nothing special. After tasting it on it's own, I intend to give it a bright note by adding a cherry tea I obtained. I think they will work nicely together.

My Go To Tea
Nice, smooth, affordable morning tea. Touch and honey, and we're good to go!
-
Excellent
Love this tea
-
Strong Assam brew
My go-to tea in the morning- mixes great with Oatly Oat milk! I even combine this with the Organic Assam tea (the granular one not the big leave) to make even stronger. This is the best at a great price!
-
My Morning Cup
My morning cup of tea is something I look forward to. Assam teas are one of my favorites, and this blend doesn't disappoint. It's malty and smooth, doesn't have any bite to it. One that I repeatedly reorder.

There are better Assams at English Tea Store
Not my favorite of 4 Assams I ordered. On the weak side, took a lot of tea to make a pot, and flavor rather lacking.
