Details
The Blackforest Naturally Flavored Black Tea blend from English Tea Store is a naturally flavored black tea that beautifully captures the subtleties of chocolate, cherries, and cream. It is fantastic with a dash of sugar and a spot of milk - it's like dessert in a cup.
The 3 high-grown districts of Sri Lanka, Nuwara Eliya, Dimbula and Uva, produce flavorful teas that have the classic Ceylon tea character which is noted by floral bouquet and flavor notes, touches of mild astringency, bright coppery color and, most importantly, perfect for use as the base tea of our flavored teas. Dimbula and the western estates of Nuwara Eliya have a major quality peak during Jan/Feb, whereas Uva and the eastern estates of Nuwara Eliya have their peak in July/Aug. This dual peak period allows us to buy the best for our flavored tea blends several times during the year, ensuring top quality and freshness. Using flavoring oils, not crystals, gives the tea drinker an olfactory holiday before indulging in a liquid tea treat.

First time trying English Tea Store's Blackforest Naturally Flavored Black Loose Leaf Tea?
Try our Sample Size of 1 ounce.- Contents loose leaf tea net weight 4 ounces
- Contents loose leaf tea net weight 16 ounces (1 pound)
Caffeine content: Medium - This tea contains natural caffeine found in the L. Camellia Sinensis family. A cup of black tea steeped in boiled water for 5 minutes will contain between 27 to 35 milligrams of caffeine. An equal sized cup of coffee will contain between 80 - 100 milligrams of caffeine. Caffeine quickly becomes soluble in very hot water. If you wish to reduce the caffeine level in this tea, briefly rinsing the tea leaves in extremely hot water will reduce the caffeine content between 25-50% with only a minor effect on taste.
Antioxidant Content: Very High - 10 - 12.49% polyphenols by dry weight. The longer you steep your tea the more polyphenols will be extracted. (Test results based on 5 minutes steeping time. Polyphenol percentages may fluctuate with lot, grade of tea, testing method, temperature of water and freshness of tea). More antioxidants are extracted from tea (L. Camellia Sinesis) the longer it is brewed. And the more tea is used, the greater the antioxidant benefit.

like drinking dessert for breakfast
I was surprised by how much flavor this tea has. Very delicious, smooth, and chocolatey, and I don't even add sugar, though I'm sure that would bring out the flavor even more. Will definitely buy again.

This is one of the yummiest teas I have ever tried
This is one of the yummiest teas I have ever tried. All the awesome flavor of a blackforest cake without having to eat the *cake*. (I know, I'm weird, I don't like cake.)

BLACKFOREST FLAVORED BLACK TEA - LOOSE LEAF
Honestly, I didn't even realize this was a flavored tea the first time I brewed it. To be fair, I'd purchased about two dozen 1oz samples of different teas in that order. One of them was a chocolate lovers pack, but I didn't remember that at the time I picked it up. I had it sorted in with the other black teas... When I first got a sniff of it after it was steeped, I was startled. Very fruity!! I took another look at the label on the package...okay, it does say flavored, interesting. I took a sip of it. Ooooh nice! Then I added some sugar, and the flavors really POPPED. Cherry and chocolate! VERY nice! I'm definitely going to be ordering more of this in my next tea order!!

A Non-Tea Drinker’s Tea
Delicious! My father is a chocolate lover who doesn’t drink tea, but he drank this.

lovely aroma
absolutely beautiful cherry aroma in the bag and in the cup, the best I've found. decent chocolate flavor andnot as strong a cherry flavor as scent, but both do come through, especially if you add in a vanilla-based tea (like Monk's Blend, my favorite) at about a 2:1 Blackforest:Monk's ratio
