The name "Gunpowder" is attributed to a young English clerk who likened the tightly rolled green balls to gunpowder. In Chinese, Gunpowder Tea is known as Siaou Chu, which translates to "large leaf," underscoring its unique processing method. Rolling the tea leaves enhances flavor extraction and reduces moisture content, ensuring the pellets maintain their shape and freshness longer than other forms of tea.
