Details

Twinings Ceylon Pure Black Tea has transitioned from the original product that was Ceylon Orange Pekoe Tea. “Orange Pekoe” is a term used to grade the size and quality of dried black tea leaves - this tea does not contain any orange flavour. “Ceylon” is the previous name of the country from where it is grown, now Sri Lanka, a small island in the Indian Ocean. Sri Lankan tea is unique because the country's hot, sunny climate is perfectly balanced with the right amount of rain to yield teas with a wide range of flavour and colour.

Twinings blend is created by carefully selecting the finest teas from the high-altitude district of Dimbula, which give this tea its bright, golden colour and crisp, refreshing taste.

Net Weight: 1.41 ounces (40 grams)

Ingredients: Fine black tea expertly selected from the Dimbula district in Sri Lanka.

For centuries people have enjoyed tea as an invigorating and refreshing beverage. Today the natural, healthful properties of tea are being rediscovered.

Best Kept Secret!

"It's the Orange Pekoe. Plain and simple. There's Orange Pekoe and after that is the grade of tea designated Black Pekoe. And there's a world of difference in flavor and aroma between the two. To each their own; but this is what tea lovers are complaining about when they bemoan the difference between the Canadian Red Rose and the bland mucky tasteless and cheap black pekoe tea sold to Americans as Red Rose. . . it's not. PG Tips was a fantastic blend of different orange pekoe teas while owned by Brooks Bond. Now it's not. Younger tea drinkers don't know what I'm talking about. It's simply a case of using the cheaper lower grade and charging more. Enjoy this wonderful blend while you can; as it's been discontinued. The floral aroma with that rich malty, unique flavor is becoming a thing of the past. At least in America. We Americans didn't know what a decent cup of coffee was supposed to taste like until Starbucks came along. Buy this tea before it's gone for good. It is wonderful!"
