Frank Cooper's is a brand for real marmalade connoisseurs! With its strong, robust flavour it is the UK's favourite brand of premium marmalade. The "fine cut' is the most popular, although the 'course-cut and peel free' versions are also very delicious.
In 1874, Sarah Jane, the wife of Oxford shopkeeper Frank Cooper, manufactured the first batch of Frank Cooper's marmalade to a recipe believed to have been her mother's. In 1903, to satisfy increasing demand, particularly amongst the Oxford dons and undergraduates, Frank Cooper opened a factory near the railway station in Oxford, England.
A jar of Frank Cooper's marmalade went to Antarctica with Scott and was subsequently found, many years later, buried in the ice.
Carrying as it does the Royal Warrant, Frank Cooper's marmalade has been standard fare at British embassies the world over. The Queen herself also admits to enjoying Frank Cooper's at breakfast!
