English Tea Store’s Lapsang Souchong is the best I’ve tried. Superior to more expensive brands. Don’t waste your money, buy this brand.
I use this tea to smoke ribs in the oven. It works great!!!
Lapsang Souchong China black tea
I primarily got this to use in tea smoking foul and pork... it is wonderful for this purpose - strong tea flavor and aroma in the smoke...
I ordered several packages of this loose tea. I like the sealed plastic bags that it came in. The tea is wonderful.
I’m neither a smoker nor a tea drinker, but after a sip of this as ice tea in a restaurant, I was hooked. I love being able to still sense the smokey aroma ten minutes after finishing my glass. It stands up well to ice, sugar and even milk.
I highly recommend this to espresso drinkers, patricularly those who enjoy the dark French Roast. You will be fascinated by how satisfying this is. And I agree with J Gregory, this is the best price on the net.
Very good quality tea. Just the right amount of smokiness. Rich and full bodied.
HAVING BEEN BROUGHT UP AROUND SAILING SHIPS THE AROMA AND TASTE OF THIS TEA WILL TAKE YOU OUT TO SEA. IT IS HARD TO FIND BUT WELL WORTH THE SEARCH

We use this tea to make a rub for steak, chicken and pork. It has a very "smoky" quality to it that makes it great for this purpose. I doubt that it would be very good to drink, but it is excellent for cooking!

This variety of tea was in my first order from English Tea Store--and was so good that I have asked for it in each order for the past year. Lapsang souchong is my favorite variety of tea, and yours is an excellent example of the genre.

Lapsang Souchong China black tea
I love the smoky flavor of this tea. It tastes like a weekend campout in the pines. It’s full bodied and flavorful. The English Tea Store has the best price I have found anywhere on the net for this specialty tea.
This may be an acquired taste, as it is strong and earthy. I often mix it with a standard black tea. It’s my weekend treat and I love it!
To be honest, all of the Lapsant Souchong tea I have had seems the same--great!! As far as I know, it is all from the same region. What makes the English Tea Store tea exceptional is the price.
It’s the right stuff, but it seems weaker than either Twinings or Melrose.. or generic CostPlus used to be. We have to use more to make a good cup.
STRONG TASTE WITH A LOT OF SMOKEY FLAVOR DOES GROW ON YOU IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOME THING NEW
Wow! This stuff is SMOKEY. For me it’s a novelty... no way I could drink this on a regular basis. It did add a little kick to some other teas I mixed it with. Go easy, because the smokey flavor can over power...
I am very pleased with this product and make some every day. I especially appreciate that the tea is loose rather than bagged.
I would not recommend this. Tastes as if someone added liquid smoke to tea and all you taste is smoke.
Scottish Breakfast loose leaf tea

A good, colorful brew with lots of character but without the tannin overtones that can make some Indian teas unpleasantly strong.
I adore Lapsang Souchong but it seems to have far more caffeine than other types -- too much for me. So I mix it with decaffeinated tea and it is perfect. You can do the same if you find the flavor too strong, too.
We’re normally quite adventurous when it comes to tea but unfortunately we just couldn’t drink this one. It smelled like a smoky yak had wondered into the kitchen.
It's all he wants for Christmas
My father, a former pipe smoker, asks for this tea every Christmas. It has the wonderful aroma of his favorite pipe tobacco. We both love dark rich flavored coffee and teas. This is am amazing flavorful tea. ...not for sissys!
Lapsang Suchong is pretty much the best tea in the world--well, I haven’t tried everything yet, but it’s the best I’ve tried so far. It’s one of those teas where you either love it or you hate it. I love it.
Drinking Lapsang is like smoking a good cigar, when someone smells it he/she usually either asks where he/she can get some or what the terrible smell is.
I’ve been drinking this wonderful tea for over 10 years now. I’ve recently "hooked" two of my co-workers, and now they love it as much as I do. One of them described the experience as "drinking a camp fire." I had to laugh, because that hits pretty close to the mark for me.
It is not THE best Lapsang I have had, but is is quite good. Unfortunately my old source, a coffee and tea shop in Vermont, closed it’s door. I searched, and tasted, a lot of different vendors until I found the English Tea Store. If you are looking for a good strong cup you won’t be disappointed.
I’ve been drinking Lapsang Souchong off and on for over 30 years. This is good Lapsang. I’ve had better; stronger, but not for this price.
Price isn’t everything but this tea compares very well to higher priced Lapsang, so price wins the day. I’m enjoying a cup right now. Thanks ETC
This tea is way to smoky for my taste. I will stick with the Keemun Panda China black tea
Reminds me of sitting around the campfire! I love this tea!
I had never had this tea before ordering it from the English Tea Store, but it is wonderful. I’m a guy who enjoys the outdoors, and it brings back so many pleasant campfire memories. I prefer it with a little milk and sugar.
